Trace32 Modular Debugger Concept

All Trace32 Systems have a modular concept.
The Debugging Controller is the Target-independent Part.

Different Debugging-Controller are available. The Different is only in the Extension with Trace-Capability and in the Host Interface.
(see Economy, Mid-Range and High-End Tab's).

The Target-dependent Part is the Debugging Interface to the Target. Each Interface supports a Family or multiple Family.

MutliCore / MultiChip Support

A Debugging Controller can support MultiCore or MultiChip Targets. (MultiChip only, if the Chip is connected in the same JTAG-Port)

Multiply Debugging Controller can connect in a line for support Multi-Chip Targets with complete different Device-Family. In this case, each Device use a separate Debugging-Port.

Timing- and Logic- Analyzers can extend the Development Tool to a complete System.

DEBUG-USB-2
Debugging Controller Economy
with USB-2 Interface

A high speed Debugger solution for a economy Budget can create with this Controller.

The Debug-USB-2 Controller is designed with a 80MHz PowerPC,
16 MByte System-Memory Memory, flexible and fast FPGA Debugging Hardware and a USB-2 Interface to Host.

The Controller supports all JTAG, eJTAG, BDM, COP... Debugging Interface. The selection of the Debugging Family is done with the Debugging Interface-Cable.

The Controller has additional a PodBus Interface. On this Port, the Timing-Analyzer PowerProbe, the Trigger Probe, or the small Logic-Analyzer PowerIntergrator-I can connect.

The Debugging Controller can support Mutlicore Debugging (multiple Devices on the same JTAG-Port) or MultiDevice Debugging by connecting multiple of this Controller to one Unit.

The Debugging Controller can extend with 128MByte Trace Memory (for 4 Bit MIPI Trace Ports only, like Cortex-M, Mips, PIC32, ATMEL)

Not supported with this Controller are the other Trace-Ports (NEXUS; 8,16,32 Bit ETM ports; HSSTP-Techniques; AUD Ports etc.) Additional, the PowerIntergrator-II is not supported with this Controller.

POWER DEBUG-I
Debugging Controller Mid-Range
with 10/100 MB Ethernet and USB-2 Interface

This Controller use a 200MHz PowerPC with 64MByte System-Memory. A slot for up to 512MByte Trace Memory is available. Flexible and fast FPGA Debugging Hardware. A 10/100 MB Ethernet Interface and a USB-2 Interface can use for connecting the Controller to the Host.

The Controller supports all JTAG, eJTAG, BDM, COP... Debugging Interface. The selection of the Debugging Family is done with the Debugging Interface-Cable.

This Unit has additional a PodBus Interface. On this Port, the Timing-Analyzer PowerProbe, the Trigger Probe, or the small Logic-Analyzer PowerIntergrator-I can connect.
The PowerIntergrator-II is not supported by this Unit.

This Controller can upgrade with max. 512MByte Trace-Memory and supports up to 300MHz Frame-Clock-Speed. With the Trace-Memory and the Preprocessor, the Controller supports all Trace-Port's except the HSSTP Techniques.

POWER DEBUG-II
Debugging Controller High-End
with 10/100/1000 MB Ethernet and USB-2 Interface

This Controller use a 500MHz PowerPC with 128MByte System-Memory. High Speed flexible FPGA Debugger Hardware. A 10/100/1000 Ethernet and a USB-2 Interface can use for connecting this Controller to the Host.

A High Speed Trace-Bus Interface can use for attached a Trace-Memory Module up to 4GByte Size and 600MHz Frame-Speed.

The High-Speed-Trace-Bus supports the very large High-Speed-Trace Memory up to 4GByte and the large Logic-Analyzer Module PowerIntegrator-II.
